It really was a picturesque scene. Blackwolf Run Golf Course was busy but quiet behind them while offering quite the scenic view. The sea of blue suits and dresses in front of them boasted unconditional love and support. Her cathedral veil was lightly billowing in the breeze, adding an extra romantic element to her bridal look. And even though the clouds covered the sky, the patio was radiating warmth. Maybe it was because we were all close together. An intimate celebration. But it was more likely the love and joy radiating off of Averey & Alfonso. They stood facing each other. He held his phone in one hand and her hand in the other. He looked into her eyes with such love and admiration. As he professed his love for her, he spoke about their past and their future. Alfonso smiled as he admired all the things he loves about Averey. She in return wiped a few tears from her eyes and smiled her adorable smile. The sincerity and depth of his words moved everyone. Literally. I don't know if they noticed, but there wasn't a dry eye in the crowd. At the end of his vows, Alfonso took a deep breath as he said one final "I love you" to Averey. And in the most serious tone, he boasted, "Wow! That was really good!" His joy and sudden burst of laughter was infectious. And mid-tears everyone present was laughing with them. And the laughter continued into Averey's vows. She too professed her love for Alfonso and God. And in closing, she looked at Alfonso and echoed his words, saying something very similar to how good both vows really were. They were both so proud, so in love, and so perfectly in tune with each other.
Their vows were clearly nothing short of magical. It was such a lighthearted moment that added a touch of humor to the heartfelt occasion. And wow, I am obsessed. I love reflecting back on this moment for so many reasons. The first being, I love the vows they promised to one another. I obviously don't have a transcript but it was so beautiful to witness God as the foundation of their relationship. Both of them mentioned Him in their vows and how important their faith is in their lives. This is a big one for me. The pure admiration and respect that they have for one another is inspiring. All of that and the genuine love they have for one another were all painted perfectly as both of them poured out their hearts. Brb. Still crying. I also love this joyful vow exchange because when I arrived in the morning, Averey's nerves were riding high. The first thing she said to me that morning was how nervous she was about her vows. I think it was a mix of having all eyes on her and being worried about what everyone would think. I reassured her that during the ceremony, it really does feel like it's just you and your honey. And that's the truth. Tunnel vision really kicks in and all you can see is the love of your life standing in front of you. I bring this up because I think it is absolutely amazing how quickly those nerves left her. They both were so incredibly proud and in awe of the vows they had written. So it just goes to show you that there really is nothing to be nervous about. It's just love!
The final reason that I love Averey & Alfonso's vows is arguably the most important. It was a moment that was filled with so many sweet laughs, shared smiles, happy tears, and a sense of joy that was palpable. And quite honestly, I should have been prepared for a witty comment from Alfonso. Especially after I learned about his sense of humor during their engagement session. His joking nature after a pretty serious display of love and affection was a beautiful reminder that even in the most heartfelt moments, there's always room for a little laughter. It's these moments of joy and humor that make a wedding day truly special and memorable. And it was the perfect depiction of how Averey and Alfonso are a truly a light in this life. They bring joy into every situation. They don't take things too seriously. They shower everyone with so much love. Their hearts may be two sizes too big, in the best way possible. And they are just genuinely kind, Godly people who I want to see more of in my life. If you can't tell already, these two definitely have a soft spot in my heart!
Averey & Alfonso, wow! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your love story with me. Thank you for trusting me to bring your vision at The American Club to life. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed and like a part of the family. Man, your families are amazing and I am still so lucky to have made so many beautiful memories with everyone. Your wedding day was absolutely incredible and your love for each other is inspiring. Your ability to find joy and laughter in every moment is something truly special.
